Preparing for the new school year

With the 2024-2025 school year almost here in DeKalb County, you may notice DeKalb County Sheriff's Deputies saturating patrols in school zones and our local school buildings. The Sheriff's Office considers the safety of our children to be of utmost importance.

Don't be alarmed if you see police vehicles, deputies, or officers in or around our schools or bus stops. Deputies focus on these patrols not only for public safety, but to build positive interactions with students.
