The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is a professional law enforcement organization dedicated to providing unparalleled service to the community. We offer a wide variety of career opportunities in law enforcement, confinement, and civilian support positions. A career with the sheriff’s office offers many rewards:

 Not everyone can be a member of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. The work can be rigorous and even dangerous at times. We are searching for gifted individuals of unquestionable integrity who can demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making skills under all conditions. We seek leaders who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the strength of character to show compassion in the face of adversity.

5-9 Years - $600

10-14 Years - $1,200

15-19 Years - $1,800

20-25 Years - $2,400

25+ Years - $3,000

  •  Paid Time Off (PTO)

    Sheriff’s Office employees receive PTO on the following schedule:

    • After 6 months of service - 5 days

    • After 1 completed year - 10 days

    • 2-4 years of service - 15 days

    • 5-9 years of service - 20 days

    • 10-14 years of service - 25 days

    • 15-19 years of service - 30 days

    • 20 or more years of service - 35 days

  • 13 Paid Holiday’s a year

  • Pension Plan PERF (Public Employee’s Retirement Fund) or Sheriff’s Retirement
